How to Clean Your PAC-PEN Micro Cutters?
As I promised weeks (or even months?) ago, that I will make a short video for you about how to clean our precoius micro cutters. Well, it's here. It’s one of the most boring film you have ever seen but I didn’t want to cut it or change the speed, so you can see the whole story how it is. The entire process only takes a few minutes and can prevent damage to the cutter.
But I just have to remark that my cutters have never been that dirty. I took my softest, darkest clay and pushed it into my cutter to represent the worst-case scenario. If you follow my instructions and using thin clay, your cutter will never look like the one on the video.
For cleaning, you’ll require:
Alcohol or soapy water
Interdental brushes
Given that we utilize alcohol in our 3D printing operations, it’s readily available to me and I found it faster and more efficient than water. However, many individuals opt for soapy water as their cleaning solution of choice.
Toothpick or even toothbrush is too hard to clean these cutters. Interdental brushes and alcohol can clean out the biggest dirt from the smallest corner without causing any damage. Soapy water is good a alternative, however I found that the alcohol is quicker and more efficient.
This is important : (especially for expert cutters, like reindeer or foot) if the clay sticks in the cutter and you don't clean it properly it will stick again and again! No matter how hard you try to change the thickness or how much corn starch you use after that. So, if it happens, wash your cutter and continue your experiment with thickness and consistency only after that.
